Atlanta Company Named Supplier of the Year at Bottled Water Conference

November 15, 2012

New Orleans, LA – The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) today presented 2012 Supplier of the Year award to GoodPac Plastics headquartered in Atlanta, GA.

“This award acknowledges the commitment of IBWA supplier members to the bottled water industry and reflects the association’s commitment to recognizing outstanding performance among supplier members,” said IBWA Convention Co-Chair Dan Kelly, in making the announcement during the 2012 IBWA Annual Business Conference in New Orleans, LA.

“When selecting GoodPac as this year’s winner, judges noted that suppliers offer the highest value when they are able to provide a dependable and comprehensive assortment of quality products and services to IBWA bottlers. It is apparent that GoodPac clearly understands and executes its role in providing bottlers with an exceptional supply chain—which includes eco-friendly bottles,” Mr. Kelly said.

“Nomination letters illustrate the commitment GoodPac employees have to ensuring client needs are met—even if that means traveling to a site to monitor a bottling process or brainstorming bottle design concepts to ensure a customer gets the best product to meet his or her needs. The friendly and professional attitude of GoodPac’s staff was also highly valued by its clients.

“IBWA has a strong tradition of recognizing the achievements of its members, so it was with delight that the association announces the creation of a new award: the Supplier of the Year award, said Mr. Kelly.

“That performance can be demonstrated in a variety of ways—including product innovation, customer service, technological advances, ‘green’ initiatives, community service, and any efforts advancing interests of the bottled water industry.”

The International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) is the authoritative source of information about all types of bottled waters.  Founded in 1958, IBWA's membership includes U.S. and international bottlers, distributors and suppliers.  IBWA is committed to working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which regulates bottled water as a packaged food product, and state governments to set stringent standards for safe, high quality bottled water products.

In addition to FDA and state regulations, the Association requires member bottlers to adhere to the IBWA Bottled Water Code of Practice, which mandates additional standards and practices that in some cases are more stringent than federal and state regulations.  A key feature of the IBWA Bottled Water Code of Practice is an annual plant inspection by an independent, third party organization.  Consumers can contact IBWA at 1-800-WATER-11 or log onto IBWA's web site ( for more information about bottled water and a list of members' brands.  Media inquiries can be directed to IBWA Vice President of Communications Chris Hogan at 703-647-4609 or [email protected].
